    Often considered one of the preeminent jams bands of the present times, the North Mississippi All-Stars
make music that reminds one less of the Grateful Dead and more of the Allman Brothers Band. Legions
of loyal fans could care less about comparisons, they have discovered the "little band that cooks".
    Discovered in the "Church of Sacred Steel" in East New Jersey, Robert Randolph had only played his pedal-steel guitar in his small church before the N. Miss. All-Stars took him into the studio to record the all-instrumental album The Word, last year. Now playing "secular music" for the first time in his life, Robert Randolph & The Family Band are selling out New York venues and in demand for both studio work and touring possibilities.
    You don't want to miss what is sure to be one of the most talked about club shows of the summer.
