This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the building and opening of the Sons of Hermann Hall at 3414 Elm Street in Deep Ellum, Dallas Texas. The Sons of Hermann is a fraternal organization that is owned and operated by it's membership and staffed by member volunteers. In addition to their members' weekly activities, the Sons of Hermann has been a community gathering place and the site of hundreds of weddings, banquets, memorials and family affairs, in addition to acquiring a national reputation as a world-class dancehall and concert venue. Often recognized as the BEST LIVE MUSIC VENUE in DALLAS, the Sons offers a unique Concert experience in the fashion of a long-gone era. Every once-a-month or so, local Dreadlocked Guitarist, Rainbow Person, Gentle Soul, Dave Burris, will invite his cohorts and comrades to "sit in" for a musical excursion that could go in many directions ... jazz, blues, reggae, psychedelic rock - who knows ? unless you are there !!!!!! with Special Guest: "The Maestro" DON CENTO An Evening of easy-listening, acoustic picking and strumming and sipping and singing ... Is this TOO MUCH TALENT for ONE STAGE ??? Daniel Bowman of The Fox and The Bird, and Kaleo Kaualoko, frontman for Spooky Folk, join the always lovely and engaging songbird Kristy Kruger for another one of the AllGood Cafe's highly popular Song-Swaps. Dennis Gonzalez is a legend of the New Jazz genre who leads one of the few free-, ethnic-, and improvisational-jazz groups in the North Texas region, the trio Yells At Eels, with his sons Aaron and Stefan. The younger González musicians now bring new sounds to the band. Distinct elements of punk, metal, thrash, and grindcore unexpectedly merge with Dennis González’ lyricism. He has extended his trumpet through the use of guitar pedals. The combination is a surprisingly natural fit. Yells at Eels unite disparate musical elements with a passion, openness and care that can only be achieved among the closest of collaborators. TOM RUSSELL was born in Los Angeles in 1953 and now makes his home on a 2.68 acre "badland farm" on the border of El Paso and Juarez. TOM RUSSELL is also an established painter represented by Yard Dog Folk Art in Austin and Rainbow Man in Santa Fe.
