Aloha Friends! So glad to be back in the Great State of Texas and this beautiful 100 degree Heat. Yes! Actually, I was being sarcastic ... but it IS great to be home and we have lots of great STUFF coming up, including some cooler weather. As a public service announcement, I feel it is my duty to remind everyone within 100 miles of the DFW to consider this a bountiful week for lovers of "My Kind of Music".

Friday, Sept. 20 - SUSAN HERNDON

One of the few redeeming qualities of the state of Oklahoma, not to p*ss anybody off - just IMHO, besides Woody Guthrie, JJ Cale and Leon Russell, is this sweetheart of a gal - SUSAN HERNDON. We always have a good time when she visits, and her songs and voice are as delicious as the Chicken-Fried.

I hesitate to say, "TWO of our FAVORITE New Bohemians!" - because we LOVE them ALL! Most Friends and Fans of the New Bohemians know how busy these guys are these days with multiple bands and projects. Obviously, it makes it difficult to get them all around in the same town to jam any more. Tonight we will have KENNY WITHROW and JOHN BUSH on stage, and who knows who else might show up.

Friday, Sept. 27 - NAKIA

After a stint in the Small Stars, with Miles Zuniga, Nakia formed his own group and was booked to play the 2008 ACL Fest, and he wound up onstage singing with Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings. Alejandro Escovedo invited Nakia to sing on his Street Songs of Love album, which led to producer Tony Visconti to recommend Nakia front his own Blues band, so he formed the Blues Grifters. A YouTube video of the band led to producer Mark Burnett recruiting Nakia for the pilot of TheVoice, and ultimately Team CeeLo.

PETE ANDERSON is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning Producer and guitarist, who melds Blues and Country to forge a style all his own. Known as a pioneer in the roots-rock genre and an early champion of the Americana movement, he is known for his work with Lucinda Williams, Michelle Shocked, Jim Lauderdale, Rosie Flores and most famously, his musical partner of 20 years, Dwight Yoakam.

Not the greatest shot but, this is JAKE SHIMABUKURO at the Palace Theater in Hilo, HI on 8/31/13. As an amatuer ukulele player, it was quite a thrill to see and hear Jake perform in his home-state of Hawaii, in front of many friends and family members. Also in attendance were some of the islands' greatest uke players and slack-key guitarists. Needless to say, Jake did not disappoint.

Come on OUT! ... SEE & HEAR some GREAT Live Music.
